Hi fellow weight-losers, my name is Alberto, I'm 23, and although I'm new to this forum-posting thing I am quite eager to hear how other people manage their diets and if they struggle with similar issues to the ones that i face all the time in my weight-loss battle... here's the biggest struggle I have... I try to engage in an active and healthy lifestyle and mostly this works and my weight goes down, however many daily chores and activities, especially the high demands associated with working full-time can get in the way leaving me with very little time each day to get out and do something. When I can I will go out for a walk but the real issue is finding time to do it - I'd just like a little more. Well, there's my problem, does anyone have any tips or strategies they use that help with fitting exercise-time into an already full schedule??? Any ideas would be much appreciated... Thanks, Alberto! :)

Hi Alberto

i don't know if you watch a lot of tv, but for me, a small first step was to just not watch tv anymore. i found i had a lot more spare time then.

hey yeah, watching tv does probably take up an hour or two of my time on most weeknights... I usually watch soapies on tv around 6:30 coz that's when I eat my dinner and then I usually hang around and see what's happening in current affairs... I often claim that I need this time to rest and wind down after work but maybe that's just an excuse... well I wanted an answer and as much as I'm gonna hate prying myself away from the set I guess I'm just gonna have to do it... an evening walk should be priority... thanks sparker, we'll see how it goes! Alberto :)

Heya Alberto,

The best way I found was to exercise in front of the tv.. I bought a cheap magnetic exercise bike off ebay and tried to do 30 min each day in front of the tv.. it really takes your mind off the exercise and before you know it you've done your daily allowance. I also like the ability of counting calories/kilojoules on a readout so i can correlate that to what i've eaten during the day... I find it really hard to put aside time to do "exercise only" routines and only really started doing things like walking to the shops instead of driving, exercising in front of the tv and doing crunches before getting out of bed in the morning.
good luck.

Great andrew, that is some helpful advice... all I gotta do is ensure I'm active in front of the tv and I don't have to miss out on my favourite shows... an exercise bike would be ideal because it would be easy to keep going, however I'm thinking I might try doing some pilates or something... anyhow, I'll have a good think about it and let you all know what I decide to do... thanks again, Alberto.
